TIRANA, Oct. 16- The municipality of Belsh welcomed citizens in its third organized folk and civic festival to celebrate the 85 lakes of Dumre.
Folk groups from Tirana, Elbasan, Gramsh, Fushe Arrez, Ulqin and Kacanik participated in this festival, interpreting various songs and traditional dances. Hundreds of people attended the musical event and danced along the songs, and enjoyed local products brought in the food fairs.
The Academy of Tirana was awarded with the first place in the Festival, followed by the folk groups of Librazhd and Korce.
The Mayor of Belsh, Arif Tafani said in his salutary words for the participants and attendees that this activity focuses on the promotion of the traditional values and the tourism that the area of Belsh and Dumre offer.
The center of Dumre has been undergoing for more than two years now in a reconstruction to turn the lake into a tourist attraction. There are no more unlawful buildings and residencies surrounding the lake, but everything has turned into a boulevard.
‘’When we decided to organize this festival, I had two worries. One was whether we’d be able to achieve the proper level and quality needed in the given timeframe. The second was whether the festival would turn into a tradition for the city of Belsh, but here we are in its third edition, and hopefully the festival will continue immensely,’’ said Tafani.
