TIRANA, June 13 – Prizren marked the 134th anniversary of the League of Prizren, with a ceremony where Albanian Prime Ministers of Albanian proper, Sali Berisha, and Kosovo, Hashim Thaci took part. Ali Ahmeti of the ruling Albanian party in Macedonia the Democratic Union for Integration (DUI) was also present.
“I call the neighbors to lay aside the prejudices towards the Albanians and to try to build the European future of the Albanians together,” Berisha remarked, Thaci said that Kosovo’s independence has corrected a historical injustice. Kosovo has been recognized by 91 states worldwide.
“Today we have a joint Albanian-Kosovar primer. We are building the road of the nation Durres-Pristina and soon we will start the construction of the Pristina-Skopje motorway,” Thaci said. Ahmeti said that the road for unification of the Albanians passes through Brussels.
While Kosovo was celebrating its 13th anniversary of the NATO bombing that gave an end to the Serb ethnic cleansing Albanian leaders from Tirana sent congratulations hailing Kosovo’s progress toward integration into the international institutions and the European Union and also conveying repeated thanks to the United States for their decision to bomb Serbia and liberate Kosovo.
