TIRANA, Dec 2ؕS Technology giant Microsoft Corporation will assist Albania in the implementation of digitalization projects, company representative Jan Muehlfeit told Prime Minister Sali Berisha. A first Agreement was signed between the Albanian Prime Minister and Bill Gates, in Edinburgh on January 30, 2007.
Berisha briefed Muehlfeit on the government’s Digital Albania plan and welcomed consultancy services from Microsoft in project fields including education and health, the government said in a statement.
Microsoft is to open an information technology academy and a business innovation center in Tirana with the government and other leading technology companies from abroad.
It will also assist the National Agency for the Information Society to upgrade its strategy and devise an action plan for new companies in the IT field, the statement said.
