TIRANA, Sept. 11 – Albanian President Alfred Moisiu reinforced the authorities efforts to include Berat town in the UNESCO cultural heritage in an interview to the French radio France Internationale. Moisiu described Berat’s rare monumental values during its 2600 year long history saying they speak and show the ancient tradition and culture of the Albanian people. Moisiu especially described the cultural objects that speak of the coexistence of different religious communities in the country since the ancient times. All these show that Albania has been and remains part of the European culture. Being positive that would help the country’s integration efforts into the European Union.
