More exports in 2006

TIRANA, Feb. 7 – Albania increased exports during 2006, though they are still much lower than imports in the country, according to the Institute of Statistics. Compared to 2005 there was an increase of 12 billion leks in 2006, reaching a total figure of 77,633 billion leks. It is to be noted that most of them were destined to European Union member countries, or 61,374 billion leks out of the total figure. The main products were textile and shoemaking, but also construction material, food stuff, drinks and tobacco.
