More police arrest on weapon, drug traffic

TIRANA, Feb. 22 – Police reported there is an increase of their arrests of the people illegally possessing a weapon, usually pistols.
During the last two months they have arrested 47 persons found with weapons possession and other crimes, adding they have also arrested 30 persons as asked by the courts.
Police claim there is an increase of their efficiency on the rule of law.
Drug traffic stopped in Tirana
Police reported the arrest of five persons allegedly involved in the illegal l traffic of drugs.
The five persons from 20 to 29 years old were stopped in capital Tirana after intensive investigative work in an operation codenamed Kompleks. They are accused of trafficking drugs in different areas in the capital.
Police also found 6.2 kilograms of cannabis sativa at their apartments, which is believed to have come from the southern district of Tepelena. It was divided in small packages ready to be sold.
