TIRANA, Sep 15؈oliday Options has launched its 2010 Adriatic brochure dedicated to Croatia, Slovenia and Montenegro and has introduced escorted small group tours of Albania.
Albania makes its debut in 2010 with ideas including ‘Mysterious Albania and Unknown Montenegro’, a two-centre small group tour taking in Tirana, Apollonia and Shkodra.
The brochure presents Albania as one of the most ancient civilizations in Europe, a fascinating and surprising country, blessed with superb beaches, some fine countryside and a people renowned for their welcoming nature and friendly hospitality. It calls its beaches as probably the best in the Mediterranean outside Sardinia and Corsica, with miles and miles of perfect sand.
As usually is the case, Albania is generally visualized by citizens of the west as a country worthy of the worst African reputation, torn by famine and bloody ethnic conflicts, with giant mosquitoes and waters infested by evil crocodiles and bloodthirsty sharks. It is common for authorities to warn their citizens against visiting the tiny Balkan country as if life threatening dangers await them at every step into this “Wild West” corner of the world. To say there is a large gap between image and reality is to make a huge understatement.
The 2010 Adriatic Brochure is also the latest attempt in restoring Albania’s image in the western world
“There is so much mystery and misinformation about Albania that we can vouch that any visitor will find a land beyond imagination. ‘Seeing is believing’ is a well-heeled clich鬠but you really do need to see Albania to dispel your misconceptions. And such is the pace of development; it would be wise to visit sooner rather than later if you want to capture the spirit of this country on the march! Like Cuba, the charm of the present may not be there for too much longer,” reads the brochure.
Exclusive departures are available between May and October and prices lead in at ÷55 per person (twin share) inclusive of return flights from Gatwick, transfers and accommodation with breakfast.
