TIRANA, Oct. 11 – Some 40,000 Albanian students started the new academic year Monday at the public universities following with more than double that number in private universities.
Education Minister Myqerem Tafaj said quality remained the motto for this school year, adding that would set the criteria for their employment afterwards.
Since a few years back, Albania has also allowed private universities that have now flourished, absorbing thousands of students looking to get a university diploma.
Prime Minister Sali Berisha said that 70 percent of the high school graduates are attending universities.
