TIRANA, July 14 – Albanian President Bujar Nishani has held a one-on-one meeting with his Serb counterpart, Tomislav Nikolic, on the sidelines of an annual meeting of the Brdo-Brijuni Process held in Dubrovnik, Croatia.
The event was also attended by presidents of Slovenia, Croatia, Serbia, Montenegro, Macedonia, Albania and Kosovo.
German Chancellor Angela Merkel attended the meeting as a guest official from another European country, to strengthen the ties between the Balkan region and the rest of the continent. In 2013, the guest was French President Francois Hollande.
The Brdo-Brijuni Process was set up in 2013 by the leaders of Slovenia, Croatia, Albania, Bosnia-Herzegovina, Kosovo, Macedonia, Montenegro and Serbia in a bid to promote cooperation.
Nishani also held separate meetings with Kosovo’s counterpart Ahtifete Jahjaga.
He discussed bilateral ties and efforts to increase them, especially in the economic area.
He also strongly urged both presidents to continue the EU-supported dialogue between them and take into action what they have already agreed there.
