TIRANA, July 26 – Albanian authorities are making efforts to attract as many tourists as possible during the peak summer season.
Deputy Minister of Tourism Nikolle Lesi said that they had done marketing and also urged local businesses to be up to the standards in welcoming tourists.
Lesi said there was a greater number of tourists who had come to the country this year.
But the official also urged for warmer and better conditions to welcome the tourists
The global economic crisis has raised awareness amongst consumers as to how they spend their disposable income. Threats of unemployment are leading tourists to be more cost-conscious when choosing travel destinations. This economic context is restricting travel and tourism in Albania.
Meanwhile a Travel and Tourism in Albania report offers a comprehensive guide to the size and shape of the market at a national level. It provides the latest market size data 2005-2009, allowing you to identify the sectors driving growth. It identifies the leading companies and offers strategic analysis of key factors influencing the market – be they new legislative, technology or pricing issues. Background information on disposable income, annual leave and holiday taking habits is also included.
Albania is a new market and it should also play in that way to welcome tourists who could be absorbed by the neighboring countries if they find better conditions there.
