One-stop shop for energy permits, licences

TIRANA, May 19 – Government approved on its Wednesday cabinet meeting a one-stop shop for permits and licences in the energy sector. Prime Minister Sali Berisha described the decision as an important step to facilitate the provision of energy permits and licences to investors.
The one stop-shop will be established at the National Licensing Centre.
According to Berisha, the one-stop shop will give a blow to bureaucracy and corruption. The Prime Minister reconfirmed the energy sector remains a priority for his government.
He said that 200 contracts have been signed during the past 3 years to build small, medium-sized and big hydropower plants in Albania.
