TIRANA, July 13 – Albania’s opposition Socialist Party has accused Parliament Speaker Jozefina Topalli of fraud by claiming more per diem expenses than she is entitled to.
They said that though she lives in capital Tirana she still gets millions of leks of per diem as if she still lives in her home city of Shkodra.
Topalli’s office reacted saying that the per diem funding is not asked or decided from her, and she is not the one that signed the documents. She also said that she gets the per diem like all the other lawmakers.
The political fight has not only no measures but also no limits of persons involved in that. If politicians would be involved in such items they would really cover their whole working days and still achieve nothing.
Common Albanians often listen to what lawmakers accuse each other and they also listen to millions of leks and other profits they enjoy due to their post, in which they were voted from them. Very often common Albanians see their lawmaker, who was so close and interested in their problems during or before the electoral campaign, disappear when elected.
