DURRES, Dec. 15 -After flooding in northwestern Albania subsided somewhat, the opposition resumed Tuesday its anti-government protests, gathering a few thousands supporters in the port city of Durres.
The opposition continues to insist on transparency for the 2009 general elections, claiming they were manipulated by the ruling Democratic Party.

He also criticized the government for not accepting the Socialists’ proposal of the strategy to stop the deterioration of the country’s infrastructure that has caused the recent flooding. The opposition called for government resignation. Spartak Ngjela, leader of the Law and Justice Party, said protests were the only way to oust the current government.
