TIRANA, June 5 – More than 100 publishers from Kosovo, Albania, Macedonia and the Diaspora are participating in the 16th edition of the Prishtina Book Fair where around 1,200 new books will be promoted. This edition of the book fair scheduled for June 3 to 8 is paying tribute to the 450th birth anniversary of Shakespeare, the 200th anniversary of Albanian Arberesh writer Jeronim de Rada.
Speaking at the book fair’s opening ceremony on Tuesday, Albanian Culture Minister Mirela Kumbaro described the book event as an opportunity to speak through knowledge, culture and the common Albanian language.
The book fair organized by the Kosovo Association of Publishers will award prizes for the best fiction, poetry, research and translation as well as best writer in Albanian and foreign literature.
