Professors, students in “City of Arts” event

TIRANA, Dec. 16 – A five-day cultural event featuring music, performing and visual arts, round tables and book promotions was held this week at the Academy of Arts in Tirana. The “City of Arts” cultural programme, an initiative of the arts professors and students in Tirana was launched on Monday with the “Underwear” comedy directed by professor Milto Kutali. A concert commemorating the 50th career anniversary of violinist Ibrahim Madhi followed the opening ceremony of the event. The great maestro was also handed over a gratitude award by the Academy of Arts rector Petrit Malaj.
Soloist and chamber music performer Pjeter Guralumi held an open day event on Wednesday, when an exhibition was launched at the FAP gallery of the Academy of Arts.
Painting professor Najada Hamza displayed a “Folk Fashion Bazaar” exhibition, while Ali Oseku introduced the public on Friday, December 16 with his graph art.
Organizers said the event was aimed at reviving cultural life in the capital ahead of the year-end holidays and offer both students and professors an opportunity to display their talents in painting, music, theatrical performances and shows.
