TIRANA Sep. 17 – Albania’s new Prime Minister Edi Rama also paid a visit to NATO Headquarters where he met the NATO Secretary General Anders Fogh Rasmussen.
“This is a time of hope and opportunity in the Western Balkans נa time to build for the future, not look to the past,” said Rasmussen after meeting with Rama.
He also commended Albania’s commitment and contribution to the NATO missions in Afghanistan and Kosovo. “Through your cooperation with the neighbors you give a special contribution for security in the region.”
Rama reassured Rasmussen that Albania will “continue to be a member at this organization complying with all its duties.”
Albania became a NATO member in 2009.
