Round table held to discuss draft law “On the Protection of Personal Data”

TIRANA, Oct. 18 – The Council of Europe and the Albanian Justice Ministry held a round table Thursday on the draft law entitled, “On the Protection of Personal Data.”
That is part of the project on “Data protection within the framework of the civil registry system of Albania” applied under the auspices of the EU-funded Civil Registry Project implemented by the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe.
The round table aimed at presenting the new draft law, prepared by the Ministry of Justice, and the main changes it will bring to the system of personal data collection in Albania. The meeting also sought to hear comments and contributions from participants and other interested organizations in order to improve this draft law.
The round table gathered representatives from relevant authorities, private sector, civil society, media, and others.
