BELGRADE, June 4 – Serb President Boris Tadic is expected to visit Albania soon, says Albanian Ambassador in Belgrade Shpetim Caushi.
In an interview given to a Serbian daily newspaper, Caushi has indicated President Tadic will visit Tirana soon for an official visit, after an invitation made by Prime Minister Berisha.
However, there was no disclosure of the date on which this visit will take place, but it seems that relations between the two countries keep getting better aside issues related to Kosovo.
The melting of the ice between the two countries started in March when Deputy Prime Minister Ilir Meta made an official visit to Serbia.
“Relations between Serbia and Albania are excellent. This spirit of bilateral cooperation positively affects the entire region. In this context, we will soon have important visits from both sides, including President Tadic’s visit to Albania,” says Ambassador Caushi as quoted by the Serb newspaper.
The visit will be considered historic because it will mark the first official visit of a Serb president in Tirana.
