TIRANA, Dec 22 – A new shipping service offers transit time of 10-12 days from Israel to Duress, via Gioia Tauro, reports Port2port.com.
The Mediterranean Shipping Company announced that it had added to its routes the link with the port of Durres in Albania, its main coastal port handling 85 per cent of the country’s international maritime traffic.
It is also a key component of South East Corridor VIII, which follows the trail of the Roman Via Egnatia, from the Albanian coast to Istanbul.
Corridor VIII is part of the pan-European networks a global project set up to help develop former members of the Eastern block and bind them to the European economy.
