TIRANA, Feb. 3 – Sigma, part of the Vienna Insurance Group, marked 11 years in Albania’s insurance market this week at an event organized in Tirana.
Sigma President Qemal Disha said the company aims to increase the ranks of insured Albanians, because there is room for growth in the market.
Sigma operates in Albania and Kosovo.
The most important event in the company’s 11 years in operations was its merger with Vienna Insurance Group in 2007, making it part of the largest group of insurance in Austria and the countries of Central and Eastern Europe.
The Austrians currently hold 87 percent of the shares in Sigma.
