blushi2TIRANA, May 19 – Socialist MP Ben Blushi accused Prime Minister Edi Rama of sponsoring the ‘scum of Albania’ during the parliament session on Thursday after receiving a threatening text message by Kavaja Mayor Elvis Roshi, a representative of the Socialist Party.

Omitting expletives, Blushi read the text message in front of the other representatives.

“Blush, it’s me Elvis Roshi. I have not committed any crime like you mentioned and soon I will appear before the public to clarify things. I will be here for as long as the city of Kavaja backs me. I will ***… I am avoiding swear-words because I despise this creature,” Blushi stated.

“Now I have a question for you Edi Rama, what’s his real name Elvis or Ervin? You say it’s Ervin, he says it’s Elvis,” Blushi publicly confronted the Prime Minister.

The name of Elvis Roshi has often been brought up by the opposition as a person involved in criminal activities. He has officially changed his first name allegedly to cover up his dubious past.

Blushi went on by mentioning other ‘bad examples’ in the local government including the Mayor of Peshkopi Shukri Xhelili, arrested after a sex video in which he demanded sexual favours in return for a job and the Mayor of Elbasan Qazim Sejdini, who Blushi accused of death threats.

“Who do you represent? The scum of Albania? These are all incriminated people,” Blushi added.

Meanwhile, Kavaja Mayor Elvis Roshi has admitted sending the text message saying he did so because he “had had enough” .

In a message posted on social media, Roshi apologized for the text message, but the apology for the language used was meant for the citizens of Kavaja and not Blushi.

The strongest critical voice within the Socialist ranks, Blushi has repeatedly accused the party leadership of fostering criminal elements.

Blushi’s attempts to obtain a reaction from the Prime Minister failed as the latter chose to remain seated and not answer to Blushi’s allegations.
