TIRANA, Nov. 19 – Albania’s president will be part of the group of leaders from the southeast European countries who will gather in Croatia to meet with U.S. Vice President Joe Biden on Nov. 25, according to the Croatian president’s office.

Presidents of Croatia Kolinda Grabar-Kitarovic and Slovenia Borut Pahor have invited Biden to attend the meeting of the regional forum Brdo-Brijuni, which brings together leaders from former Yugoslav countries and Albania.

The Brdo-Brijuni Process was launched by former Croatian President Ivo Josipovic and his Slovenian counterpart, Borut Pahor, in 2013, proposing annual meetings of the presidents of Southeast European countries, with a guest from a leading EU country in attendance, aiming at promoting regional cooperation and settling outstanding issues in the region.

German Chancellor Angela Merkel was the guest of the 2014 summit in Dubrovnik, a south coast city of Croatia.
