Spanish Cinema Week In Pogradec

TIRANA, Aug 18 – “Cinema and Arts” is the thread of the I Spanish Cinema Week in Pogradec, organized by the Embassy of Spain in Tirana and the Municipality of Pogradec, according to the Spanish embassy.
Since 2006, when the embassy opened its doors in Tirana, it has been committed to spreading knowledge of the Spanish culture and arts in Albania. Now, Cinema Week is an attempt to do this by using the cinema to present Spain to the Albanian people. During Cinema Week, five Spanish films will be screened. E ach of these films tries to reflect an artistic discipline found in Spanish culture. So the films are not only a sample of the Spanish cinema, but they show, too, a glance of other artistic matters such as painting, theatre, flamenco, and other items.
The same kind of Spanish Cinema Weeks “Cinema and Arts” have already taken place in Durres, from 16th to 20th June, in Berat, from 21st to 25th July and now in Pogradec from 18th to 22nd August.

These films are:

CAMARON, by Jaime Chⷡrri, which tells the story of the famous Spanish Flamenco singer.
GOYA EN BURDEOS, (Goya in Bordeaux), by Carlos Saura, narrating the last years in the live of the brilliant painter.
EL PERRO DEL HORTELANO, (approximately “Misery loves company”), by Pilar Mir
