Swiss group Rudana looks to invest in Albania

Rudana wants to work with Dubai Ports Group to invest in Albania’s projects in infrastructure, ports, energy and telecommunications.

TIRANA, Feb. 16 – Rudana Investment Group, a Switzerland-based international company, has expressed interest in investing in Albania’s seaport and energy infrastructure, the country’s government said in a release following a meeting between Prime Minister Sali Berisha and Hany Salem, Rudana’s executive director.
Rudana works with Dubai Ports Group to invest in e infrastructure, ports, energy and telecommunications projects.
The government statement said Rudana wants to implement several projects in Albania, with a first step being opening a branch of the group’s development bank in the country.
The group has concrete ideas, according to the government.
It wants to participate in the reconstruction and expansion of Albania’s largest seaports in Durres and Vlora, working together with partners like Zumax and Dubai Ports.
Rudana is also interested in financing existing projects as well as complete a full cycle of new projects, according to the government statement covering the meeting.
Prime Minister Berisha said Albania welcomes investments in infrastructure and energy projects, as they are the focus of strategies and reforms of the government.
“The financing of the existing projects in energy and participation in new energy works would be welcome and the government of Albania fully supports them,” the statement said.
