TIRANA, Sep. 26 – Police and prosecutors reported they had arrested three top officials and accused them of corruption.
Kliton Ajet Rusi, 46, and expert of the Finance Ministry, Misir Sadush Haxhiaj, 45, of the social insurance section in Lushnja town, and Dashnor Rriza Sinanaj (Zdrava), 31, manager of a private company, were arrested while they were taking a bribe of million 1 leks in exchange of giving the documentation for the sale of a public property.
Police structures had been investigating the case for more than a month.
The first two are accused of corruption, a phenomenon which remains a main obstacle along the country’s integration efforts into the European Union.
