TIRANA, Oct. 3 – Two people were killed and another was injured last week in a shooting in Tirana’s May 1 Park.
A man and a woman were shot dead while the driver was injured.
Police said they later arrested two young men who admitted to being the shooters.
The three victims were inside a BMW vehicle and the shooters used a Kalashnikov later found in the nearby Lana River.
The injured driver, who has a criminal record, is under arrest, while being taken care at the hospital in the capital.
The two shooters told they aimed to kill the driver, and the two other victims were not the intended targets. Another woman in the car at a time managed to escape the shooting unscathed.
The two shooters – alleged small time drug dealers – told police the driver, whom they considered as their boss in drug trafficking and distribution, had repeatedly beaten them because they had not made enough money for him.
