TIRANA, April 22 – The Tirana Chamber of Commerce and Industry has signed a memorandum of cooperation with Italy’s Siena Chamber of Commerce. The agreement which strengthens cooperation between the two Chambers was signed by the head of Tirana Chamber of Commerce, Nikolin Jaka, and his Siena counterpart Massimo Guasconi.
“Italy is Albania’s first trade partner. According to recent data published in a report by the Albanian Centre for International Trade, the trade volume with our western neighbour last year reached 1.4 billion euros of which 912 million euros of imports from Italy to Albania,” said Jaka, assuring that Italian investors will find a hospitable environment in Albania.
“Siena investors will find a growing economy in Albania,” added Jaka, referring to the 3.3 percent economic growth figure for 2009 published recently by the Institute of Statistics.
The two chambers of commerce will cooperate in exchanging information, best practices and increase active participation in European Union programmes to establish partnerships.
