27 November 2008 Tirana — “The government in Tirana has decided such a move in order to support the formation of new security forces, which will replace the current Kosovo Protection Corps”, Albanian Foreign Minister Lulzim Basha said.

The Kosovo Security Force will be trained by Kfor, a decision which has cut high-level bilateral relations between Belgrade and NATO.
Its formation was proposed by the Ahtisaari plan, which was rejected at the UN.
