TIRANA, May 12 – The historical background of Tirana on its 400th anniversary of foundation is being featured in an exhibition at the TEN multidisciplinary centre in Tirana. Painter Ilir ȡkalli is showcasing a series of paintings ranging from Tirana’s old bazaar to the capital’s new city centre.
Speaking at the exhibition’s launch, Tirana Mayor Lulzim Basha described the exhibition as part of efforts to tell the history of Tirana and appreciate the contribution of everybody, especially Tirana native households, who showed tolerance toward Albanians from all regions in what has become today as the capital of Albanians.
Painter Ilir ȡkalli said he had tried to bring lively, expansive and expressionist paintings in his exhibition of Tirana in different periods alternating hilly and historical landscapes.
