TIRANA, July 23 – Albania and Kosovo soon will be part of the European Union, said President Bamir Topi during a meeting with representatives of the Youth Parliament.
The group was made up of representatives of the Kosovo and Albanian Youth Parliament. Topi stressed that all efforts are being made so the Kosovos citizens may move freely in EU countries.
“Even the new generation of Kosovo has a clear profile of the nobility and tolerance. What dominates is the future, you need to move freely. There are being done all efforts for Kosovo not to be an isolated case so the Kosovos citizens may move freely,” said Topi. Relations between Albania and Kosovo are partnership ties, which aim to increase the recognition of Kosovo, said Foreign Minister Edmond Haxhinasto when meeting with a group of Kosovar diplomats.
“This is for several reasons: firstly because Kosovo is a country which, during the short time since its independence, has shown great maturity in building democratic institutions, in its international behavior and also as a very important factor for peace and security in our region, “he said.
The Foreign Minister further said that the relationship between Kosovo and Albania already has a clear purpose: first, to cooperate in increasing the number of recognitions, secondly, to facilitate the engagement as soon as possible and Kosovo in regional initiatives and euro-Atlantic cooperation, and thirdly, to complete the economic integration with Albania and other countries in the region.
