DURRES, Sept. 20 – Three children burned in the room they were playing, medical-legal expertise confirms. The family of the children lived at Romanat village, in Durres. The children were 3 years old.
The cause of the fire is not yet clear. It is suspected it began either due to the children’s game with matchsticks or due to an energy glitch, as an electric cable was found on the floor of the room the children were playing.
The smoke and shouts coming from the room were sufficient to attract the neighbor’s attention, but unfortunately they could not help, because the children were locked in the house and their room’s windows were gridded. Still to be decided is not just the reason behind the fire, but also the amount of the parents’ responsibility, as they allowed the children to stay alone in the house.
