TIRANA, July 5 – The History of the United States of America, a book translated into Albanian by Uke Zenel Bucpapaj, was promoted this week in Tirana as the U.S celebrated its 235 anniversary of the declaration of independence.
The 450-page book published by the Albanian International Centre for Culture traces the United States history from early stages to modern times, including the colonial period, the road to independence, America’s flourishing and the Great Depression and other recent events.
The book was first published by the Department of State in 1949-1950, while in Albania it has been used by English students of the Faculty of Foreign Languages in Tirana.
The History of the United States of America is addressed to students but also journalists, publicists, scholars, and politicians who are interested in the history of a country that leads the world in freedom and democracy.
