TIRANA, April 16 – ‘Warsaw 44,’ an epic historical drama film about young fighters fighting the Warsaw uprising of 1994 will be staged in Tirana by the Polish embassy on the 70th anniversary of the end of World War II.
Directed by Jan Komasa, best known for his award-winning Suicide Room film, the 2014 production is one of the biggest and most eagerly awaited Polish movies in recent years.
Warsaw 44 is a story about youth, love, courage and sacrifice that is set in the 1944 Warsaw Uprising, the bloody armed struggle against the Polish capital’s German occupiers during World War II.
Warsaw 44 tells the story of young Poles destined to enter adulthood in the cruel days of German occupations. Despite the war raging around them, they are full of life, passionate and impatientm living as though each day was their last.
The movie will be screened at the Marubi film and multimedia school on Monday, April 20 at 19.00.
