In October, the Cinematographic Center of Tirana will be organizing the Week of the Albanian Film in Paris. During this week, it is expected that five films will be screened, some of the best productions by Albanian producers over the last few years. “Slogans,” a co-production of the “Albanian General Vision,” Film Producing Center and the French Company, “Les Filmes Des Tournelles,” produced by Gjergj Xhuvani; script writer Ylljet Ali謡, is one of the films that will be screened.
This film returns to France, after winning a prize at the Cannes International Film Festival. “Sako’s Wedding,” is another film that will be screened, a co-production of the “Eurofilm” Film Production Center and the Hungarian Company, “Focusfilm,” produced by Vladimir Prifti and script writer Vath Koreshi. The Film “Mao Tse Tung,” screened in Tirana cinemas only a few weeks ago, will be shown in Paris too. “Gjoleka, the Son of Abaz,” a film which is considered as particularly successful and not only in Albania, will also be screened. It was produced by Dhimit철Anagnosti, who also wrote he script.
The “Week of the Albanian Film,” in Paris, is the result of the cooperation between the Albanian Cinematographic Center, the Albanian Foreign Affairs Ministry, the Albanian Embassy in France, the French Alliance and the French Embassy in Tirana. Sources from the Cinematographic Center said at a press conference on Monday that these activities are organized to introduce Albanian film productions to foreign audiences. A similar activity has just been held in Athens, Greece.
