Yields continue to drop as BoA sells 155 million euro in t-bills

TIRANA, Dec 29؂ank of Albania (BoA) sold on Tuesday 21.46 billion leks ($224.1 million/155.2 million euro) in three-month and 12-month treasury bills as yields edged lower.
The central bank, which auctions government securities on behalf of the Finance Ministry, offered and sold 13.2 billion leks in three-month T-bills, as dealers placed bids worth 13.5 billion leks. The T-bills produced a weighted average yield of 6.28%, down from 6.3% in the previous auction held on December 22, BoA said on its website.
The central bank also sold the entire offer of8.26 billion leks worth of 12-month T-bills. The issue was oversubscribed as dealers placed bids worth 13.6 billion leks. Yields fell to 9.04% from 9.14%in the previous auction held on December 15.
BoA has auctioned Treasury bills worth 387.98 billion leks this year. It auctioned T-bills worth 373 billion leks in par value last year, compared to 386.83 billion leks in 2007.
