Yields increase as BoA sells 17 billion Lek in treasury bills on Tuesday

TIRANA, June 3נThe Bank of Albania sold 17 billion Lek (127.8 million euro) in 3- and 12-month treasury bills in an auction held on Tuesday, as yields edged up, the bank said on Wednesday.
BoA offered and sold out 6 billion Lek worth of three-month treasury bills. They produced a weighted average yield of 6.36%, up from the 6.28% achieved in the previous auction held in May. Dealers placed bids worth 6.84 billion Lek.
BoA also sold 11.0 billion Lek worth of twelve-month treasury bills, as dealers placed bids for 12.06 billion Lek. The yields rose to 9.22% from 9.17% achieved in the previous auction two weeks earlier.
BoA has auctioned Treasury bills worth 160 billion Lek since the beginning of the year. It auctioned treasury bills worth 373 billion Lek in par value last year, compared to 386.83 billion Lek in 2007.
