Young pianists in Fredrich Chopin competition

TIRANA, April 21, Celebrations to mark the 200th birth anniversary of renowned Polish composer Chopin resume this weekend with the “Frederic Chopin” young pianist competition scheduled from April 23 to 27 at the Academy of Arts in Tirana. Chopin laureates will also give concerts in Durres in April 26 and at the Academy of Arts one day later, when the prize award ceremony is held.
The Chopin Year celebrations in Albania kicked off on February 28 with a concert organized by the Municipality of Tirana, the Chopin Association, and the Polish and French embassies in Tirana.
Events continued on March 3 with a concert by Polish pianist Marek Szlezer at the National Theatre of Opera and Ballet with some of Chopin’s best compositions.
The Polish composer and virtuoso pianist is considered one of the great masters of Romantic music.
Earlier this month French pianist Pascal Gallet also gave a concert at the Academy of Arts in Tirana.
