TIRANA, Feb 18 – Thirteen other officials of the Defense Ministry were indicted for the Gerdec blast which killed 26, injured 300 others and also destroyed or damaged some 5,500 houses and businesses.
Last week prosecutors charged with abuse of post 11 civil and military officials of the Defense Ministry, including former Minister Fatmir Mediu, a charge that may take them up to seven years in prison if proven guilty.
The 13 officials were communicated the same charge of abuse of post but also of falsifying documentation.
Their involvement included commissions deciding on the price of the rounds of bullets, shells, and work at the military mechanical plant.
