TIRANA, Aug. 8 – The U.S. dollar reached Tuesday the lowest rate with the lek in the last 12 years with 95 leks per one dollar. The same rate has been seen in Albania in 1994, according to the central Bank of Albania statistics. The main reason for that fall was the international market (1 euro = 1.289$) and the entrance of much euro from the immigrants at this summer time. From the other side the interest for the dollar continues to fall due to the increase of economic trade with euro-based countries, according to experts, who add that the lek is not showing its real value to the euro. Dollar’s highest peak has been during 1998-2002 when it was rated with 145 leks.
