TIRANA, Oct. 31 – A memorandum of understanding was signed this Tuesday between Albania and Kosovo to bilaterally accept Vehicle Insurance Certificates. The deal, signed by Valbona Kaduku, Executive Director of the Albanian Bureau of Insurance, and Michel Svetchine, head of Kosovo Banking and Payment Authority, recognized each other’s Certificates of Internal Insurance for vehicles in their two territories. It also facilitates the procedures and compensations for the third party related accidents, making it possible to have a regulated free movement of people which will help trade, investment and tourism. Authorities take every responsibility to fulfill their duties in relation to the certification, regulation and compensation procedures in order to make the agreement valid and applicable according to the policies approved by the Council of Bureaus. Finance Minister Ridvan Bode hailed the agreement and considered it as an achievement in the larger context of providing all the necessary circumstances for the free movement between the two countries. He said that even natural obstacles are going to be removed due to the large infrastructure projects that are being implemented to build the Durres-Prishtina highway.
