TIRANA, Feb. 6 – The Albanian parliament passed Tuesday constitutional amendments which increased the number of the Central Election Commission from seven to nine members. The two new members came from the Christian Democratic party of the governing coalition and the Socialist Movement for Integration of the opposition coalition. Shk쭱im Hysi of the Christian Democrats got 78 votes. There were some frictions within his party with two trends asking for two different persons. Genti Shala of the SMI got 95 votes. That was agreed at the agreement reached between the two main political groupings earlier this year.
