TIRANA, Feb. 6 – The International Financial Corporation program for Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR), in cooperation with the Centre of Conflict Management of Netherlands, organized a training of five days for mediators. from different professions and background. The aim of this training is to prepare the Albanian mediators that will be confronted with cases that need mediation as a way to get solved. The participants were informed about the Law of Mediation and with the techniques of the alternative dispute resolution that they will use in the mediation sessions. This training aims to create effective structures that can support the implementation of the Law for Mediation that is approved by the Parliament of Albania since 2003. Mediation is an alternative method to resolve the conflicts saving money, saving time and saving the relations with the part that you are in conflict. The efficient mediation will contribute in the improvement and in the strength of commercial contacts, stimulating the work in the private sector and in the raising of the investments. The introduction of commercial Mediation is part of three key agendas of Albania in the moment: the anti-corruption agenda, the agenda for reforms of the Judiciary and the agenda of European Integration Since Albania became a member in 1991, IFC has committed more than $125 million of its own funds in the country and has arranged about $9 million in syndications. IFC investment has financed projects in the financial, information, and manufacturing sectors.
