Parliament delegation visits Romania

TIRANA, Feb. 27 – A parliamentary delegation headed by Speaker Jozefina Topalli made a visit Tuesday to Bucharest, Romania where they met with all top officials. The delegation met with Romanian Speaker Nicolae Vacaroiu to discuss how to strengthen relations between the two countries. They both said that such high level meetings serve to their strengthening. Vacaroiu said that Romania would help Albania’s Stabilization and Association Agreement’s ratification by the EU member countries soonest possible. Romania became a full EU member in Jan. 1 this year. The Albanian delegation also met with the Romanian Senate deputy head Eugen Nicolicea, trade minister Iuliu Winkler, and President Traian Basescu. The Romanian president pledged his country’s support in helping Albania become a full NATO member next year.
