TIRANA, Feb. 26 – The Albanian parliament held Monday the first session after the local polls to discuss on the agenda for the next three weeks. As expected the Feb. 18 local polls were also a topic of debate between the majority and the opposition as both claim victory. They also agreed that an electoral reform should start urgently, a promise that has long been considered as such, though they later seem to ‘forget’ the imperative issue until the next election come. Parliamentarians also passed some amendments to the penal code, considered by the Justice Minister Aldo Bumci as very important as it improves the fight against terrorism, and hardens the articles on hiding the property transparency.
