TIRANA, March 27 – Police are trying to increase their steps to prevent road accidents that have turned into a main cause of death recently. Capital Tirana, Kavaja district and further north the road to Shkoder have had considerable number of deaths in road accidents.
Despite police measures there have been noticed only recently 12 accidents resulting in three deaths and ten injured persons. There have been 170 road incidents, police report.
Despite that only in Tirana during the last week there have been two accidents in the main streets. A 74-year old man died after a road accident in Tirana’s main streets. Police arrested Drini Zervoj, 28, the car driver. In another car accident at Tirana’s main Martyrs of the Nation Boulevard a 48 year old woman died after hit by a Mercedes.
