TIRANA, April 3 – Families of the victims of the January 2004 tragedy in Otranto have sued the government for not paying them for the damage. Due to the lack of intervention to save their lives, on Jan. 9, 2004 a speedboat with 31 persons aboard found rough seas and 20 died while seven are considered as lost. Their families did not set a certain amount of money they ask for but said experts should decide how much the damage cost them. Last year the government has blocked the use of speedboats in the Albanian waters in an effort to block illegal human and drug trafficking.
