PESHKOPI, April 3 – Police reported Tuesday that they had arrested Mehmet Mani, 46, who was sentenced in 1999 with 25 years imprisonment for killing a couple in northeastern Peshkopi. Police went to the village of Rreth Kale near Drini river late Monday night. Mani responded with shots against police for five hours. He was armed with a kalashnikov and a hand grenade. On Monday police arrested Vladimir Nebi Selenica, 39, from Berat, who was sentenced to eight years imprisonment in Italy. He was wanted after injuring with a gun a person in his village in 1996. Selenica was arrested in Kucova. In Vlora police arrested Aleksander Hoxha, 31, who had been sentenced with 15 years imprisonment for theft with weapons.
