TIRANA, April 16 – President Alfred Moisiu sent a message to Pope Benedict XVI with all the best wishes on his 80th birthday. “As a multi-religious country, where three faiths coexist in harmony, Albania expresses its gratitude and joins your messages and prays for dialogue and harmony among the peoples,” said the message. Moisiu also mentioned the ‘excellent ties’ between Albania and Vatican and the wish to further deepen them.
In a separate development the local media reported that former premier Fatos Nano had gone to the Vatican and presented to the pope a small bust of Mother Teresa for the birthday.
