TIRANA, May 8 – Albanian officials hailed Monday’s election of Nicolas Sarkozy as the next president of France.
Both President Alfred Moisiu and Prime Minister Sali Berisha sent messages of congratulations to Sarkozy.
“On May 6, 2007 French citizens voted for their vision and Sarkozy’s platform as the most excellent, clearest vision for themselves, their families, nation, for France and Europe,” said Berisha, also mentioning that his Democratic Party belongs to the same center-right political affiliation as Sarkozy’s political party.
