TIRANA, June.5- Energy problems are again an issue for Albania as night power restrictions having already begun and are expected to last at least until mid-June. Albania’s state-run power utility, KESH, has issued an international tender to buy 1.5 million megawatt-hours (MWh) of electricity at a total cost of up to 108.6 million euro to cover the domestic demand in the second half of 2007, the company said on Tuesday. KESH said on Monday it will import 107,280 MWh of electricity worth 6.8 million euro this month to cover the shortfall between local production and Albanian demand. (Tirana Times Staff)
